Why we selected sunflower oil as one of our key ingredients

When we set out to create our skin balms, we knew we wanted to use a combination of high-quality, nourishing ingredients. Two of the primary ingredients we decided on were shea butter and coconut oil, known for their hydrating and moisturizing properties. However, we also wanted to explore using other oils as an additive to enhance the benefits of our skin balms.

During our search, we considered several oils that complement the properties of shea butter and coconut oil, including:

  1. Jojoba Oil: Jojoba oil is a lightweight, non-greasy oil that is similar in texture to the natural oils produced by our skin. It is highly moisturizing and has anti-inflammatory properties, making it an excellent choice for sensitive or acne-prone skin.
  2. Grapeseed Oil: Grapeseed oil is a light, easily absorbed oil rich in antioxidants and essential fatty acids. It has anti-inflammatory properties and can help to improve skin texture and appearance.

  3. Argan Oil: Argan oil is a rich source of vitamin E and essential fatty acids, which help to nourish and hydrate the skin. It also has anti-inflammatory properties, making it an excellent ingredient for sensitive skin.
  4. Sweet Almond Oil: Sweet almond oil is a lightweight oil rich in vitamin E and essential fatty acids. It has anti-inflammatory properties and can help to improve skin tone and texture.

After careful consideration and testing, we ultimately decided on sunflower oil as the best additive for our skin balm. Sunflower oil is a versatile oil rich in nutrients, including vitamin E and essential fatty acids. In addition, it has emollient properties that help to soothe and hydrate the skin. Finally, its anti-inflammatory effects make it an excellent ingredient for sensitive or acne-prone skin.

We also found sunflower oil is non-comedogenic, meaning it does not clog pores, making it suitable for all skin types. Additionally, sunflower oil is relatively inexpensive compared to some of the other oils we considered, making it a cost-effective option for our customers.
